As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, Marita has performed CPR on patients.
"I can only imagine how terrible it would be to see a cardiac arrest and not be prepared to help. If a life is saved by someone who received my training, I am honored to have been a part of it."

"I can only imagine how terrible it would be to see a cardiac arrest and not be prepared to help. If a life is saved by someone who received my training, I am honored to have been a part of it."
Two of Marita's students have done CPR, one on their father, and one on a stranger, both just weeks after they took a CPR class!
Marita started Be Prepared First Aid in 2013 after failing to find a more convenient way to get community volunteers certified in CPR and First Aid.
Marita has more than 20 years of experience in emergency situations, starting as a Combat Medic in the US Army. She is a Red Cross licensed training provider, and has nursing experience in Pediatrics, Pediatric ICU, Mother-Baby, Neonatal ICU, Home Health, Hospice, School and Camp Nursing.
Marita strongly believes in giving back to the community. She spent summers in Honduras, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic doing health education. Marita was a PTA board member for many years. She now spends every summer as a Camp Nurse.
